Mari Skåre

 

Mari Skåre holds a master degree in law from the University of Oslo.

 

Before taking up the position as Deputy Permanent Representative of Norway to NATO, Skåre held the position as Minister Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission at the Norwegian Embassy in Kabul.

 

Skåre has more than 19 years experience from the Norwegian Foreign Service working on issues relating to i.a Afghanistan, the UN, Polar Affairs and Resource Management. She has i.a. held the position as legal adviser in the Secretariat of the Minister of International Development and head of the Division for Environment and Sustainable Development. Skåre has throughout her carrier worked extensively with the UN-system, and served as Counsellor at the Norwegian Mission to the United Nations with following inter alia financial, reform and legal issues.
