The Government has decided to maintain the presence of Norwegian forces in the Faryab province in Northern Afghanistan through 2008, and will also strengthen the stabilization force (PRT) in Maymaneh with 2-3 helicopters, as well as an infantry unit consisting of about 100 personnel. Read more

On September 24 NATO gave the Serbian government a list of coordinates and numbers of cluster munitions dropped during the 1999 air campaign. Based on these data the Norwegian Government will fund a survey of the affected areas in Serbia. Read more

The Norwegian Ministry of Defence is organising a seminar on  Multidimensional and Integrated Peace Operations in Brussels 5 October 2007. The seminar will bring together representatives from the UN, EU, AU and NATO, focusing on common challenges in relation to integrated missions and the different institutional frameworks of UN, EU and NATO.
