Afghanistan - RC North Ministers' meeting

26/05/2010 // Ministers of Defence with armed forces in the North of Afghanistan met in Berlin on 11 May to discuss the transfer of security to Afghan Security Forces. Emphasis was put on the international community's continued engagement in Afghanistan.

The ministers discussed mid- and long-term perspectives on how to continue the nations' coordinated efforts. Providing support for the Afghan Security Forces remains a priority. The establishment of sufficient Afghan capacity and ownership is vital in order to be able to start transferring the responsibility for security.
